Plaw Hatch Farm are committed to the wellbeing of our hardworking farmers. Decent housing is essential for them to do their best work. In recognition of this the farm business has made a £50,000 donation to St Anthony's Trust towards the build. This donation, together with insurance money and money received by donations, enabled work to start on Phase 1 of the build.

Plaw Hatch Farm managed the build on behalf of St Anthony’s. We are committed to reducing the cost and environmental impact of the house and have used salvaged fittings and recycled materials wherever possible.

The land and buildings at Plaw Hatch Farm are held in charitable trust by St Anthony's. This ensures that the land will be farmed on biodynamic principles and continue to provide delicious, nutritious food whatever challenges we face in our lifetime and for generations to come. The recent crisis highlighted the importance of local food systems and we were able to keep the shelves stocked even as the supermarkets failed.

To maintain a regenerative, biodiverse landscape and produce healthy, nutritious food, a deep working knowledge of the unique ecosystem of the farm is required. This knowledge and understanding is built up over many years of working with the land and livestock. We need to provide decent accommodation and housing for our farmers to ensure that they stay on the farm and build on their expertise, enabling Plaw Hatch to continue to thrive in these challenging times.
